By accessing or using Kugo, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.

Kugo exists to preserve Marakwet language and oral heritage. You agree to contribute respectfully, avoid harmful or misleading submissions, and honor cultural context when uploading content.

You retain ownership of content you submit, including text and audio. By posting on Kugo, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual license to host, display, process, preserve, and use that content for any purpose — including education, research, cultural archiving, and commercial purposes such as producing books, learning resources, courses, and other technology products. All contributions are made voluntarily and without expectation of payment, compensation, or revenue sharing of any kind. Kugo owes no financial obligation to contributors for any use of submitted content.

Community votes, moderator actions, and elder verification may affect visibility or status of entries. Kugo may remove or restrict content that violates these Terms or undermines community trust.

You must not upload unlawful content, impersonate others, interfere with platform operations, attempt unauthorized access, or submit spam and malicious material.

Kugo currently uses Google sign-in. You are responsible for activity on your account and for keeping your access secure.

By creating or using an account, you agree that Kugo may send periodic newsletters and community updates to your account email. Newsletter emails include an unsubscribe option. You will continue to receive essential non-promotional messages needed for account security, legal notices, and important service operations.

Kugo is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. While we aim for quality and authenticity, we cannot guarantee that every submission is complete, accurate, or error-free. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Rodgers Labs and the Kugo platform shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages — including loss of data, revenue, or goodwill — arising from your use of or inability to use the platform, reliance on any content found here, or any other matter relating to these Terms.

We may update these Terms as Kugo evolves. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.

Donations made through Ko-fi are voluntary and are not required to use Kugo. Donations are not purchases and do not grant ownership rights, moderation privileges, editorial influence, or guaranteed feature delivery. Unless otherwise required by law, donations are non-refundable and any refund request is subject to Ko-fi's platform terms and policies. Kugo does not make any representation that donations are tax-deductible.
